Increased Use of Recycled Materials
Even with all its productivity-boosting features, this ThinkPad was designed with sustainability in mind. We used post-consumer recycled materials (PCC) in several components, including 90% in the speaker housing, 90% in the battery compartment, and 90% in the power adapter. The keys are made from 70-80% PCC recycled plastic, and the keyboard frame contains 60% PCC. The bottom cover and display each contain 50% PCC. Plus, the packaging is 100% plastic-free and Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certified.

We've redesigned the legendary ThinkPad keyboard, making it even better! Tactile markings on important keys and an LED Braille dome indicating the power port make it easier to use for the visually impaired. We've reversed the positions of the Ctrl and Fn keys for better ergonomics. The TrackPad is now 115 mm / 4.53ʺ, providing more precise and comfortable control. The legendary red TrackPoint remains for quick navigation — a double tap opens the customizable Quick Settings Menu (TPQM) for optimizing sound and image. We've also improved the air intake and ventilation system, resulting in a thermal design that increases performance.
